NO ICE IN BERKS
Berks Organizing Workgroup
BOW is a nonviolent, all-volunteer political action group that launched in February 2026 as part of the BURN coalition. We want a safe, secure Berks County where all people can live without fear of ICE, and everyone is afforded their full Constitutional rights, including due process.
The ICE of today operates outside the law, tears families apart, and partners with companies that profit from human suffering. Berks must end its relationship with an agency known for brutal detention practices and violent disregard for due process. BOW's mission is to stop all formal and informal collaboration with ICE, shut down Abraxas Academy, and support state legislation to get ICE out of Pennsylvania.

The letter claimed the food is rotten and contains worms or insects; that detainees do not get adequate medical or dental attention; and that they have to beg for basic amenities like toilet paper and hand soap."
